Dear Roadrunners,

As I hope many of you will attend today’s Covid-19 response town hall, I will keep today’s message brief.

Vaccine Booster and Testing Changes Town Hall

Please attend a hybrid town hall to learn more about the updated vaccine-booster requirement, changes to screening testing for unvaccinated students and other health and safety protocols.

Attend in person: Jordan Student Success Building, Room 400. (Limited seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

In light of the evolving Covid-19 situation, please also join me and other campus leaders for a moderated panel discussion on the University’s Alternative Work Arrangements policy. The conversation will take a high-level view of the AWA policy’s guiding principles, roles and responsibilities, and technology security for implementation and support.

Additional spring-semester reminders

• Get boosted: Early data shows that getting boosted is a strong protection against the Omicron variant of Covid-19. If you haven’t already, please get your booster as soon as possible.
• Get tested: Get tested before and after travel to avoid potential spread of Covid-19.
• Metropolitan State University of Denver will be closed Monday (and is a holiday for faculty and staff), allowing Roadrunners to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
• There are no planned changes to University operations or learning modalities. On-campus learning will resume as planned Tuesday.
• All members of the campus community must self-monitor for symptoms, get tested and stay home when sick. 
• Roadrunners must wear masks when indoors on campus, in accordance with masking guidelines.
• All community members must follow full health and safety protocols.
• Consider purchasing home testing kits for Covid-19 or request two free testing kits from the State of Colorado. Although they have limitations and shouldn’t be used for definitive diagnosis, they offer a level of information and protection.
