Homecoming 2020 Roadrunners Rise promo image.During the past six months, the Roadrunner community has continually stepped up to provide much-needed support to students. Alumni have reached out to help with recruitment efforts or to give career advice to graduating students, faculty members worked tirelessly on a successful transition to remote learning, and staff members pivoted to deliver support services virtually.

Today, we celebrate all the ways Roadrunners have risen to the challenge to continue serving students and the Metropolitan State University of Denver mission.

We invite you to learn more about ways you can help and celebrate existing programs and Roadrunners who are already making an impact.

  • Alumna Carolyn Barker is the 2020 Alumni Volunteer of the Year. Barker was recognized for her countless hours providing career guidance in the Roadrunner Advisor Network and mentoring students within the College of Business.
  • Charles Schwab and alumna Kayla Roesner provide an annual opportunity for 25 students to participate in a five-week career-readiness program.
  • The Staff Senate is launching its Taking Care of You campaign today, encouraging employees to prioritize self-care to be our best for our students.
  • Clinical and Counseling Psychology students taught by Randi Smith, Ph.D., professor, Psychological Sciences, have been working with a local mental-health organization to provide individuals with mental illness a space for virtual connection.
  • Join the Roadrunner Advisor Network today! The network is an online platform that connects professionals with students to provide career guidance and advice. This is open to all alumni, faculty/staff, students and community members.
