Metropolitan State University of Denver is offering an exciting new professional-development opportunity for tenured and tenure-track faculty: the Presidential Faculty Fellows Program.
Beginning in the spring, the Presidential Faculty Fellows Program will provide selected faculty with the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes view of the administration of the University at the highest levels. The Presidential Faculty Fellow will receive 15 hours of reassigned time for the semester and will work full time in collaboration with President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., and the Senior Leadership Team. The application deadline is Oct. 15.
The objectives of this program are:
- Professional development for faculty members interested in learning firsthand about presidential-level operations, leadership and decision-making;
- The promotion of shared governance by enhancing faculty understanding of presidential responsibilities; and
- The opportunity for faculty to provide advice and support to Davidson.
The Presidential Faculty Fellow will report to the chief of staff and will carry out tasks in support of:
- The day-to-day operations in the Office of the President;
- Budget issues;
- The University’s various inclusive decision-making processes and special projects;
- Coordination of activities related to the Board of Trustees, legislative affairs, fundraising and external relations; and
- Communications.
The Presidential Faculty Fellow will report back to their home department to share the experience, knowledge and insights they gain during their semester of work in the Office of the President.
