Students walking past Roadrunner Food Pantry.Since the onset of COVID-19, the Roadrunner Food Pantry has seen a steep increase in the number of students experiencing food insecurity. Requests for assistance are up 43% compared with the fall 2019 semester. In response, the Student Care Center has provided more than 500 students with electronic gift cards to supplement their trips to the grocery store, but the need for support has not diminished.

To continue feeding hungry Roadrunners, we need your help.

Join us during starting today for Week of Caring with a virtual food drive to benefit students who rely on the Roadrunner Food Pantry for the nutritious meals they need to succeed. Get involved by:

  • Joining the Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty/staff giving competition.
    • Which University division will raise the most money for students in need? Select your division when making a gift and watch the leaderboard to keep track of standings.
  • Starting a recurring gift.
  • Sharing how you care.
    • Share the Roadrunner Food Pantry Food Drive giving page on social media to encourage others to make a gift.

Your support provides grocery-store gift cards to our students while the Roadrunner Food Pantry’s physical location remains closed. On average, a gift of $25 covers a week’s worth of groceries and toiletries for one student. Any gift, any amount, impacts student lives and ensures that no Roadrunner goes hungry.
