Welcome to Day One of Homecoming 2020! This virtual Homecoming Week, Metropolitan State University of Denver uses the theme of Roadrunners Rise to celebrate all the ways Roadrunners have risen to meet the challenge of a pandemic, economic crisis and civil unrest.
Each day this week, we will focus on a different theme, such as social justice and the importance of community service. Please join us for these great events and share with us how you care for your community.
Today, we celebrate Roadrunners Give Back Day with multiple service projects at partner organizations focused on food insecurity:
- Food Bank of the Rockies
- Thirty-five volunteers (alumni, students, faculty and staff) are volunteering at Food Bank of the Rockies today from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
- Food for Thought
- Roadrunners Athletics consistently volunteers for Food for Thought. Staff members and student-athletes put together food packages for hungry families this past Friday and will deliver them this Friday.
- Florence Crittenton Services
- Eight volunteers put together food packages and sorted and distributed food Friday.
- The Roadrunner Food Pantry Giving Challenge starts today.
- The Dare to Care Volunteer Challenge starts today.
