Attend Fall Welcome Back event Sept. 17

President Davidson will answer questions from the campus community, recognize Legislators of the Year and provide updates on Safe Return to Campus efforts.

August 27, 2020

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.Dear Roadrunners,

A lot has happened at Metropolitan State University of Denver since March, so I’m planning to use this year’s Fall 2020 Welcome Back address to share a high-level overview of where we have been, the lessons we have learned and, most importantly, what comes next. Please join me for this annual tradition on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. The event will look a bit different this year as we livestream it virtually, but I am excited to kick off the academic year with a conversation about the state of the University.

Specifically, I will be providing updates on the University's Safe Return to Campus efforts and our economic impact on the Denver community. Faculty Senate President Katia Campbell, Ph.D., and Staff Senate President Rebecca Reid also will join me for a dialogue based on your questions. If you would like to do so, please submit any questions along with your RSVP by Thursday, Sept. 10. You will be able to view the livestream here.

During this event we will also recognize two recipients of our Legislator of the Year awards. Periodically, MSU Denver honors members of the legislative community whose values and work align with the University's commitment to advancing the lives of students and the state of Colorado.

Lastly, as you know, all students and employees who have been approved to return to campus for in-person classes must wear a mask or face covering at all times while in the presence of others. To ensure that every member of the Roadrunner campus community has at least one option to help keep them safe, we will be providing a mask for each employee after the event. Whether you'll be on campus this semester or in the future, we will have you covered with a mask available in your campus box or with your department.

Additionally, MSU Denver masks are available through the Alumni Association. When you make a gift of $25 ($15 is tax-deductible) to the Roadrunner Food Pantry, Student Emergency Fund or DREAMer Emergency Fund you will receive one reversible MSU Denver-branded mask while also supporting students.

I look forward to addressing your questions and sharing important updates with you soon.

Sincerely,

Janine Davidson, Ph.D.
President
