Welcome Back Ambassador Program kicks off

Volunteers needed to help greet, provide direction for limited number of Roadrunners on campus for fall semester.

While most classes at Metropolitan State University of Denver will be held virtually this fall, about 200 sections that require University resources or expert oversight will meet on campus.

To welcome back this limited number of students, the University is seeking current faculty, staff or student employees to serve as volunteer Welcome Back Ambassadors.

Taking place Aug. 17-28, this program ensures that our students are met with friendly faces while getting gentle reminders to follow posted health and safety guidelines.  

In this role, two people will be stationed at each building entrance to check IDs, answer questions and provide masks to those without them. All Welcome Back Ambassadors will be trained and required to follow MSU Denver’s safety protocols outlined for face-to-face campus activities.

This program is voluntary, and no employee should feel compelled to participate. Full-time employees can volunteer during regular work hours but need to obtain permission from their supervisors before signing up for a shift. Hourly employees should communicate with their supervisor that their department will need to cover the standard hourly rate of pay for the time worked (and reflect it on time sheets accordingly).
