Things look a little different, but baseball is back. And with it, so is Metropolitan State University of Denver’s exclusive 50/50 raffle partnership with the Colorado Rockies.
Entering its third year, the program has raised more than $395,000 directly benefiting over 120 departments, programs and majors at the University, said Jamie Hurst, assistant vice president for Strategic Engagement.
“This has been a great collaboration; it’s truly incredible to see the community come together to benefit MSU Denver as a whole,” she said.
This season’s raffles will take place online, with sales opening two hours before the first pitch and closing with the start of the seventh inning. Drawings will be held for each home game, while away-series games are compounded into one larger drawing held at their conclusion.
Hurst sees the successful event as a natural fit between MSU Denver and the Rockies Foundation, which facilitates youth baseball efforts in underserved communities.
“Their outreach mission is closely matched with ours as a University,” she said. “And the response has been fantastic – we’re generating interest from our engaged alumni while generating revenue for the University at a time it’s needed most.
“It’s truly a win-win.”
50/50 raffle-ticket purchases open two hours before the first pitch of each game. For more information, contact Nicole Thomas in Alumni Relations.
