Deadline for voluntary budget-reduction incentive options extended

Employees now have until June 19 to submit requests for furloughs, leaves of absence without pay and voluntary-separation incentives.

At the President’s Cabinet meeting May 20, President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., shared additional cost-reduction measures that will help Metropolitan State University of Denver meet an expected $14 million budget shortfall for fiscal 2020-21. This included three voluntary budget-reduction incentive options for personnel: furloughs, leaves of absence without pay and voluntary-separation incentives. Please note, voluntary-separation incentives remain available to faculty members and classified staff only.

Human Resources has extended the original June 5 deadline for employees to submit requests to participate in these voluntary budget-reduction incentive options. Employees must now notify their supervisors if they are interested in requesting one of these options by June 19.
