The MSU Denver Alumni Advisor Network, hosted by the Alumni Association, is a powerful online tool connecting current students and young alumni with Metropolitan State University of Denver alumni, faculty and staff to receive the career advice and expertise they need to fulfill their professional goals.
Home to over 3,000 users – 203 advisors serving over 2,000 students and young alumni – the Advisor Network matches experienced career professionals with advice-seekers to guide them through the processes of building a professional network, learning about a specific industry or career and preparing them to enter the workforce.
When advisors register, they choose how to support students and young alumni based on six consultation types: career conversations, résumé/CV critiques, mock interviews, work-life balance, transitioning from school to work and advice from a recent graduate. Advisees are matched with an advisor based on the type of guidance they are seeking and the information they provide when filling out their profile: desired work location, employer, role, industry, degree and field of study. All advising sessions take place at a time that works for everyone, online or over the phone.
The Advisor Network has something for every member of the Roadrunner family, including access to over 100 career-focused webinars for every stage of your professional development. Whether you are an undergraduate, graduate student or experienced professional, courses such as Cover Letters 101, Optimizing Your LinkedIn Profile, the 2-Hour Job Search and others can help you reach your career potential.
Register as an advisor today and offer our students and young alumni the guidance they need to reimagine possible.
