Wednesday workout graphicCampus Recreation is hosting live weekly workouts for the Metropolitan State University of Denver community Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.-noon. Roadrunners looking to stay healthy and active can participate live or tune in to the department’s YouTube channel, which features a number of other fitness videos.

The workouts are designed to encompass the whole body using a variety of formats to target major muscle groups and get the heart rate up while improving muscular strength, balance and conditioning. All fitness levels are welcome. No equipment necessary, though water and a mat/towel for floor exercises may be helpful. The live trainings will be hosted via Microsoft Teams should participants need to ask questions or request assistance with form, but screen sharing is optional.

Instructor Jazmin Serrano holds ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and TRX Suspension Trainer Certification. Serrano notes that her service in the Marine Corps prepared her well for fitness training, teaching her discipline and consistency.

“No matter the fitness goal, we can get there together,” Serrano said. “I plan to teach and help you feel healthier, happier and accomplished. The key is to create new habits, trust that every bit of effort makes a difference and to enjoy the journey.”
