Tune in Wednesday for the American Educational Research Association’s Platicando con Intención panel discussion, an important conversation on black liberation and the Latinx community’s role in the movement for racial justice as non-black and black Latinx people.
The panel will cover topics addressing anti-blackness, colorism, race and racism, and whiteness within Latinx culture and communities, and education. Part of the discussion will focus on ways anti-blackness shows up culturally and personally, and addressing the Black Lives Matter movement in academia and beyond.
Michael Benitez, Ph.D., vice president for Diversity and Inclusion, will join fellow panelists Gabriela Kovats Sánchez, Ph.D.; José M. Aguilar-Hernández, Ph.D.; E Nuñez, Ed.D.; and Sudeshna “Sue” Flores.
