Voluntary staff budget reductions addressed at town hall

Leaders spoke to questions and concerns related to new options for furlough, leave of absence, transitional retirement and more.

HR Overview - voluntary staff budget reductions slidesFaculty and staff members had their questions about options related to voluntary budget reduction answered at a town hall meeting Thursday by Vicki Golich, Ph.D., provost; Bill Henry, Ph.D., vice provost for academic affairs; George Middlemist, chief financial officer; Stacy Dvergsdal, associate vice president for Human Resources; and Angela Bender, associate director of talent strategy.

The event covered many of the questions submitted by faculty and staff and included a live Q&A session. Topics included voluntary furloughs, voluntary leave of absence without pay, voluntary separation incentives and transitional retirement. Metropolitan State University of Denver employees also submitted questions on potential furlough lengths, the furlough-approval process, continued benefits availability, the difference between voluntary furlough and voluntary leave of absence without pay, potential impacts to PERA and specific impacts to classified staff.
