How to donate blood and plasma

Roadrunners are encouraged to consider donating.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased metro Denver’s need for blood donations. Roadrunners who are healthy and able to donate blood or plasma are encouraged to consider donating through the organizations listed below.

Roadrunners who have received a positive COVID-19 lab result and have fully recovered may also donate plasma to help others who are struggling with COVID-19 symptoms and complications. Prospective donors must confirm their ability to donate with the donation organizations listed below.

VITALANT

Vitalant strongly recommends that healthy donors schedule a donation to help the organization better serve donors and appropriately manage the blood supply. Please call 877-25-VITAL (877-258-4825) or visit the website to schedule a donation.

RED CROSS

Blood donations: The Red Cross anticipates opening more new donation sites soon, and donors are encouraged to visit the Red Cross website for more information. To support social distancing, appointments are required.

Plasma donations: The Red Cross is also seeking people who have fully recovered from COVID-19 and may be able to donate plasma to help current patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infections, or those judged by a health care provider to be at high risk of progression to severe or life-threatening disease.
