Teaching With Primary Sources offers support for educators

The free peer-to-peer network of education professionals is offering webinars and other helpful resources.

As educators struggle to transition quickly to remote online teaching, Teaching With Primary Sources (TPS) is stepping up to provide teachers with resources and tools to enrich their online curriculum.

Sponsored by the Library of Congress and managed by Metropolitan State University of Denver, the TPS Teachers Network is a noncommercial, password-protected, professional social-media platform. It is a peer-to-peer network of education professionals who have connections to the K-16 classroom and are focused on using primary sources to improve student learning. There is no charge to join the network, which has nearly 10,000 users from all 50 states.

Since the Colorado stay-at-home order was issued, the TPS Teachers Network has been offering one-hour webinars three days a week to assist teachers. To see the schedule for future webinars, please join the TPS Teachers Network or sign up for the TPS Western Region newsletter.

The network has a simple two-step registration process with a follow-up verification email.

As with any other social-media platform, registrants can contribute content or just observe and gather resources.
