Members of the Auraria Campus community are encouraged to submit feedback and comments through Thursday on proposed RTD service changes that could go into effect May 17. RTD attributes the proposed service changes — which include service cuts and route eliminations — to an operator shortage. These changes could have a significant impact on many Auraria Campus students and employees.
Proposed bus-service changes:
Six routes are proposed for elimination: 16L, 55, 99L, 157, 236 and 403.
Twenty-one routes are proposed for reduced service: 0L, 1, 15L, 16, 27, 32, 46, 65, 66, 67, 99, 116X, 125, 130, 139, 153, 206, 483, Free MallRide, JUMP and Y.
All special services are proposed for discontinuation, including BroncosRide, BuffRide, RockiesRide and RunRide.
MallRide frequency will reduce during rush hour from every 90 seconds to every 3 minutes.
Proposed rail-service changes:
R Line: Service frequency would be reduced between 5 a.m. and 7 p.m. to every 30 minutes on weekdays and weekends.
D Line: Service would no longer run on weekends.
C Line: Weekend service will be expanded because of a greater transit market in the Central Platte Valley; provides an option for eliminated D Line weekend service.
H Line: Weekend service frequency would be reduced from every 15 minutes to every 30 minutes.
