200 reviewers needed
Help make higher education accessible for deserving students by supporting the scholarship application review process.
March 4, 2020
It’s scholarship season! This year, thanks to technology investments, Metropolitan State University of Denver is on track to see the largest number of students ever applying for scholarships. Already, students have submitted more than 3,000 general-scholarship applications for the 2020-21 academic year.
This volume of submissions requires as many hands – and eyes – as possible to review and score each application. The goal is to enlist 200 MSU Denver faculty and staff members in the effort, with each volunteer responsible for reviewing 30-40 essays. However, the expected time commitment for each volunteer is only 2-4 hours total.
Reviewing scholarships is a great way to support educational equity and access, while also learning more about funding opportunities and about current and prospective Roadrunners. Please email Jake Beaudrie, scholarship counselor, to sign up now. Beaudrie will provide a reviewer manual and training to all volunteers, and no specific skill set is necessary. The review period begins March 11 and ends May 1.
