JSSB with graphic overlay Following the announcement Tuesday of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s first positive case of COVID-19, the University is in the process of deep cleaning the buildings in the MSU Denver neighborhood according to the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Auraria Higher Education Center will be doing the same for shared facilities. To reduce the risk of transmission, employees will not be allowed on campus until this critical step is completed.

Campus and building access

On Monday, MSU Denver-owned buildings are expected to be accessible to employees with key-card access to retrieve essential items. If it is absolutely necessary to come to campus, please coordinate with your supervisor in advance. Supervisors must confirm building access with Sharon Lorince, director of Operations and Maintenance, via email between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. prior to Monday. More information is forthcoming on access to AHEC-owned facilities.

Those approved for access to MSU Denver-owned building should keep their time on campus brief. Otherwise, all work should continue remotely until further notice.

If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how minor, please do not return to campus in any capacity. Instead, contact the Health Center at Auraria or your personal health care provider to discuss your symptoms and receive further guidance and support.

Healthy employees who need to return to campus and are not experiencing symptoms are still strongly encouraged to take all recommended safety precautions. Please wash your hands thoroughly before, during and after accessing the building, refrain from touching your face and continue to practice social distancing as much as possible.

Laboratory and classroom access

Please confer with your supervisor to determine which employees are critical to ensure the safe continued operation of lab work and that all necessary safety precautions are being exercised.

Mail delivery

AHEC will continue to distribute mail to on-campus boxes until those boxes are full. Excess mail will be held until it is safe to distribute.
