Here’s the latest guidance on gatherings and info on remote learning training and campus operations.

We currently offer two training services:

Virtual training: From 9 a.m to 3 p.m. we offer online drop-in training sessions. Use the button below to start a session.

In-person trainings will be available in Central Classroom 103. Each training session can accommodate up to 20 people and is first come, first served:
• Monday, March 16: 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.
• Tuesday, March 17: 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.
• Additional in-person trainings will be scheduled as necessary.

Additional questions related to instructional training will be answered by calling the Faculty Ready Support Line at 303-615-0800.

Should I cancel my University-related event or gathering?

Per the Centers for Disease Control guidance, Metropolitan State University of Denver recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more. Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing.  When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual.

Where is the best place to get more information about COVID-19 impacts on the University community?

Will the Health Center at Auraria remain openIf not, will the student health insurance cover coronavirus screening and treatment at other hospitals? 

The?Health Center at Auraria is open and can provide coronavirus testing to students. Please call the Health Center first at 303-615-9999 prior to directly walking in. This enables the staff to get ready for your visit and ensures that the appropriate screening questions can be asked over the phone.   

Are the Auraria Library, Tivoli Student Union and Early Learning Center still open?

The status of these Auraria facilities is being evaluated by senior leaders from AHEC, CCD, MSU Denver and CU Denver. More information will be shared as the situation unfolds. However, you can find a majority of the library’s resources online at: https://library.auraria.edu.  

Will the PE/Event Center remain open?

As of March 15, the following rooms/offices will be closed until further notice: the Outdoor Pursuits Center (PE 002), the Fitness Center (PE 110), the racquetball courts (PE 111C & 111F), the squash courts (PE 111D & 111E), the multipurpose room (PE 111G), the Atrium in the building Lobby, PE 116), the gymnasium (PE 117), the Loft (PE 201), the dance studio (PE 215) and the green room (PE 220).  

The PE/Event Center will be open 8 a.m.–5 p.m. on Monday, March 16, to allow students, faculty, and staff to retrieve personal items from lockers. After 5 p.m. that day, there will be no access to lockers until further notice.

Will the student computer labs remain open?

IT Student Computer Labs are open and are adhering to normal operating hours until further notice. Please contact ITS at 303-352-7548 or check the ITS website for more information. 

Is the Roadrunner Food Pantry open?

The Roadrunner Food Pantry (Tivoli 262) is open Monday, March 16, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Any student can obtain food as long as it’s available. Outside of the food pantry’s hours, visit the Student Care Center (Tivoli 343) between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday for available food or referrals to open community-based food pantries. 

Is the MSU Denver Counseling Center offering remote sessions?

MSU Denver’s?Counseling Center will begin offering virtual counseling opportunities starting the week of March 16. Please call 303-615-9988 to request or reschedule a counseling appointment. If you should have an urgency crisis, please call 303-615-9911. Check the Counseling Center website for updates on the use of tele-behavioral health options for our Center.  

Is the MSU Denver Tutoring Center offering online tutoring?
As MSU Denver works to move classes online, the University will offer 24/7 online tutoring. To access, log in to Blackboard Learn from the Student Hub, click on "Learning Support Services" under My Organizations, then click on the Online Tutoring link. 

Can I still visit the Center for Visual Art?

The CVA has closed temporarily. Please visit the center’s website or social media pages for more details as they become available.

Will the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program continue?

All remaining VITA tax clinics have been cancelled for the semester.
