Celebrate MSU Denver’s top professional advisors

Nominate a colleague for the Outstanding Professional Advisor Award by Feb. 28.

Nominations are open through Feb. 28 for the Outstanding Professional Advisor Award. Please consider nominating Metropolitan State University of Denver academic advisors who:

1. Deliver a developmental advising approach that embodies the mission and vision of MSU Denver.

• Include at least one example of how this is put into practice.
1. Are engaged in student retention.
• This includes retention initiatives the nominee has/is engaged in, their use of technology and that the nominee is tracking or has tracked results.
• Include at least one example of how this is/was put into practice.
2. Actively participate in optional academic-advisor trainings and/or advising professional-development opportunities.
• Please outline how the nominee has applied this information in advising sessions and/or outreach initiatives.
• Include at least one example of how this is put into practice.
3. Demonstrate appropriate student-referral activity.
• This includes referring students to faculty and other student-support services on campus.
• Include at least one example of how this is put into practice.

Please submit your nominee’s contact information and specific examples of how your nominee meets each award criterion to Stephanie Allen, director of advising systems, no later than Feb 28. This award will be included in the Roadrunners Who Soar event.
