Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Office of Enrollment Management and Strategic Enrollment Management Steering Committee are excited to announce the second semester of the SEM Data Series. Spring presentations will continue to engage campus partners in critical conversations around student recruitment and retention.
“We are working to build upon the great presentations from the first semester and have identified some exciting projects to share with the MSU Denver community,” said Michael Nguyen, director of enrollment-management systems and operations.
Last term, presentations from Enrollment Management and Business Intelligence helped shed light on first-year retention, the enrollment patterns of incoming and nonmatriculating students and more. This semester’s presentations will kick off with a dive into the college decision-making process.
Using data from Royal and EAB’s Decision IQ, Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management staff sought to understand what motivates and influences students’ choice when selecting a college. Using multiple years of student responses and feedback, the analysis helps to shed light on three main themes:
- Why don’t students select MSU Denver?
- What do we know about the decision-making process?
- How can we influence students’ decision?
