Metropolitan State University of Denver leaders regularly share their experience and expertise in the media. Recently, Cathy Lucas, vice president for Strategy and External Affairs, visited the “Higher Ed Geek” podcast to discuss how MSU Denver has adapted to working and learning in the age of COVID-19 and how the University has continued to build community and deliver on its mission.
Speaking with host Dustin Ramsell, Lucas shared how communicating and coalescing around shared values have helped Roadrunners weather COVID-19 and engage in the challenging and necessary work of addressing institutional racism. She also highlighted the Strategy, Marketing and Communication team’s adaptive marketing efforts as well as its focus on brand journalism. This unique approach to storytelling has helped increase visibility for MSU Denver experts and allowed the University to join and lead important conversations.
“Right now, we have such a greater sense of freedom to be innovative and experiment with new ideas, whether that is communication or ways of doing business,” Lucas said.
