Metropolitan State University of Denver is excited to welcome three new members to the Foundation Board. Ruth Rohs, Ashley Dimond and Stephanie Rayman will begin their board terms Jan. 1. Each brings a unique perspective and experience as well as a shared passion for advocacy and student success.
“We are thrilled to have Ruth, Ashley and Stephanie join the Foundation Board,” said Christine Márquez-Hudson, vice president for Advancement and executive director of the MSU Denver Foundation. “They will add valuable perspectives, skill sets and connections that will help the board achieve its goals of raising philanthropic support for the University’s highest priorities. Each brings extraordinary experience to their roles, and I’m certain they will jump right in.”
Ruth Rohs, executive director and senior vice president of corporate communications, IMA Foundation
In 2018, Rohs was named one of Colorado’s Top 25 Most Powerful Women by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama and has a master’s degree from Chapman University. Rohs completed the Colorado Governor’s Fellowship Program in 2018, is a 2006 graduate of Leadership Denver and is a 2012 graduate of the Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program. She is a founder of the Community Chest and in 2012 was honored with the Betsy Bernard Emerging Leader award from the Women’s Vision Foundation.
"I am passionate about education and believe every student, no matter who they are or where they come from, deserves the chance to get one," Rohs said. "MSU Denver serves an incredibly diverse student body, giving many first-generation students the chance to earn a four-year degree. Our state will benefit from giving these students this opportunity."
Ashley Dimond, MBA student, University of Chicago Booth School of Business
Dimond is a second-year student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University in the School of Hotel Administration with a minor in real estate and a concentration in food and beverage. Dimond is a board member on several councils, including the Cornell Hotel School Young Alumni Council and the University of Chicago Booth Admissions Committee. Previously, she has worked on global product acquisition for Burger King and moved to India to oversee a new product launch for Uber. As a proud Colorado native, she’s eager to get back to her hometown and start working in the hotel space again.
“My educational experiences have been transformative to the way I approach my personal and professional life and I want the same opportunity to be available to those that choose it," Dimond said. "I’m incredibly excited and honored to be a part of an organization that prides itself on the idea that every student should have an opportunity to better their life through the highest quality of education at an affordable price.”
Stephanie Rayman (’09), director of marketing and general manager, Tivoli Brewing Co.
Rayman has more than 15 years of experience in the food-and-beverage industry. She graduated from MSU Denver in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Rayman serves on the MSU Denver Alumni Board and helped launch the MSU Denver Mug Club, which now funds an endowed scholarship for the School of Hospitality. Rayman’s continued commitment to fundraising and supporting the Denver community as a whole has also led to a partnership with Tivoli Brewing Co. and the Colorado Fallen Hero Foundation.
“Being able to engage with students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis is something I continuously look forward to as these open lines of communication keep me up-to-date with the ever developing culture and progression of our University," Rayman said.
