Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty and staff members are invited to attend UndocuPeers training Dec. 3-4. The training helps attendees learn how to better support and work alongside MSU Denver’s nearly 400 undocumented students.

Undocumented and unafraid protest sign.UndocuPeers training is based on a workshop that was developed by undocumented students and the advocacy group United We Dream and is used in educational institutions across the United States. MSU Denver’s training includes information that is relevant to Colorado and MSU Denver to raise awareness and educate participants about the realities and challenges that undocumented students face as well as the resources that are available to them.

The professional-development-centered program is split into two 2½-hour virtual trainings during which attendees hear from an underrepresented student population whose voices often go unheard. Attendance is required for both sessions.
