Roadrunners and friends of Metropolitan State University of Denver are invited to attend the next event in the President’s Speaker Series, featuring author and activist Marc Lamont Hill, Ph.D. Hill will draw on the life and legacy of former Georgia Rep. John Lewis to examine the possibilities of progressive politics in the post-Trump era, including concrete tools for building community, forging bonds of global solidarity and dismantling oppressive systems.

Hill is the host of BET News and the Coffee & Books podcast and is the Steve Charles Professor of Media, Cities and Solutions at Temple University. His work in journalism has garnered awards from the National Association of Black Journalists, GLAAD and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Hill has also been a social justice activist and organizer since his youth, and he is the founder and director of The People's Education Center in Philadelphia.

This virtual lecture and fireside chat is the latest in our President’s Speaker Series, which brings national and international luminaries to Metropolitan State University of Denver for dialogue about important issues of our day. It is presented by the Office of the President, Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry (D-phi), and co-sponsored by the University's departments of Africana Studies, Political Science and History.
