Queer Consent

The Power of Boihood: A Film Screening and Poetry Reading

Oct. 13

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

In collaboration with the Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion, the Gender Institute for Teaching and Advocacy, the Phoenix Center, the University of Colorado Denver’s Women and Gender Center and the University of Colorado Denver’s Center for Identity and Inclusion, the LGBTQ Student Resource Center is hosting “The Boi Doc.” Me&MyBois is a collective of masculine-of-center people creating media outlets for LGBTQ people of color. With the increase in suicide attempts, particularly among young LGBTQ people of color, along with the increase of violence toward trans women and men of color, it is the goal of Me&MyBois to provide visibility and resources for this community to combat the negative stereotypes perpetuated in households, workplaces, classrooms, public restrooms and mainstream media. “The Boi Doc” uses dialogue to break the silence created by racism, sexism, gender-expression insensitivity, heterosexism, homophobia and transphobia.

Registrants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
