MSU Denver signOpen enrollment for Metropolitan State University of Denver’s benefit-eligible faculty and administrative staff will run from Monday through Nov. 20. Faculty and administrative staff members will have the opportunity to review coverage options and make benefit changes for 2021 without experiencing a qualified life event. If it has been a year since you reviewed your current benefit elections, the Office of Human Resources encourages you to review your elections to ensure that they best meet the needs of your family and yourself.

MSU Denver is partnering with one of its vendors, Sunlife, and using the Sunlife online platform for the University’s open-enrollment period. On Monday, employees will receive their login information for the Solidify system. Employees will be able to view their current enrollments and elect any changes in the online system. Once an employee has completed their open-enrollment transaction, employees will receive an electronic benefit summary that will also automatically be sent to the Human Resources Benefits Team. Employees who have questions are welcome to contact a member of the Human Resources Benefits Team. The Human Resources Benefits team will have set days for employees to sign up for one-on-one appointments.

In anticipation of open enrollment, here are a few highlights employees need to know.

  • There will be a slight decrease in medical premiums, with no plan-design changes to any of our four medical plans.
  • There will be no premium changes or plan changes for dental or vision plans.
  • If an employee does not participate in open enrollment, medical, dental and vision elections for 2020 will roll forward to 2021. Those employees who lost vision coverage for 2019 but want to elect vision coverage in 2021, please make sure to reach out to a member of the Benefits Team for assistance.
  • Health Care and Dependent Care flexible-spending-account elections will not roll over to 2021. To ensure participation in a flexible spending account for 2021, employees must make an election during open enrollment.

Please watch for further communication regarding open enrollment coming out via email from HR-Communications beginning Monday.
