A Conversation and Q&A With Justice Monica Márquez

Colorado State Supreme Court Justice Monica Márquez will participate in a live, virtual discussion of the legal profession, the importance of a diverse bench and judicial career paths. After a brief conversation and remarks, students interested in law can participate in an extended Q&A session. The event is open to all Roadrunners and is hosted by the Department of Political Science’s Legal Studies Program, the Golda Meir Center and the Political Science Association.

A Conversation with Daniel Junge

Join Vincent Piturro, Ph.D., professor, Film and Media Studies, for a live, virtual conversation with Daniel Junge, director of a popular new Netflix documentary series, “Challenger: The Final Flight.” The space shuttle Challenger disaster was a pivotal moment in American history, and Junge will discuss the vision behind the series.

Junge also directed the Academy Award-winning short documentary “Saving Face.” His other films include “Being Evel,” “A Lego Brickumentary,” “They Killed Sister Dorothy” and the Academy Award-nominated short documentary “The Last Campaign of Governor Booth Gardner.”

The event is co-sponsored by the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry and the MSU Denver Department of English.

Reporters have become targets in the U.S. political environment. Join a panel of experts discussing how student journalists can stay safe while covering protests or other high-conflict events. 

Moderated by Alfonzo Porter, editor in chief of Urban Spectrum, the event will welcome panelists William Gaines, Criminal Justice and Criminology Department; Susan Greene, publisher of the Colorado Independent; Greg Moore, former editor in chief of the Denver Post; Cary Aspinwall, staff writer, The Marshall Project; and Susan Greene, journalist, The Colorado Independent.
