Student writing at desk during class. The new and improved Metropolitan State University of Denver Employee Tuition Benefit launched in fall 2018 and provides a tuition reduction toward undergraduate courses for benefits-eligible employees and their dependents and spouses. Since the launch, more than 350 applications have been processed by the tuition-benefit team, and those interested in spring 2020 classes must apply by Friday.

Employees and students using the benefit are responsible for reading and understanding the Tuition Benefit Procedures, which have been updated for clarity. Here is what you need to know before you apply:

  • Cash-funded courses are not eligible for the tuition benefit. This includes, but may not be limited to, courses within Accelerated and Traditional Nursing, Innovative and Lifelong Learning (including self-paced online courses), DIME Denver and DIME Detroit, and all master’s programs. Please consult with the academic program or an advisor to confirm whether courses selected are cash-funded.

  • Prior to submitting a tuition-benefit application, applicants must apply for admission to MSU Denver and register for classes.

The tuition-benefit team – comprising a cross-departmental group from Learning and Development, Financial Aid, the Office of the Bursar, Admissions, the Office of the Registrar and Information Technology Services – is dedicated to equity and accessibility.
