Help recognize outstanding faculty and staff

Nominate your colleagues for one of several awards – and mark your calendars for the first-ever Roadrunners Who Soar event.

On April 8, faculty and staff are invited to celebrate their colleagues at the first-ever Roadrunners Who Soar awards ceremony. The event brings together all corners of the campus to recognize great work being done at every level. Stay tuned for more event details in an upcoming Early Bird article.

In the meantime, you are invited to help shine a spotlight on dedicated MSU Denver employees who regularly go above and beyond. If you know a hardworking Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty or staff member, nominate them for one of the following awards today.

Undergraduate Research Leadership Award – Deadline: March 4

This award recognizes MSU Denver faculty or staff members who have positively influenced undergraduate research through their own research, through scholarly or creative projects with undergraduates and through demonstrated leadership activities.

Recognizing Excellence in Advising – Deadline: March 8

Do you know an advisor who deserves applause? Nominate them for one of the following awards:

• Outstanding New Advisor
• Outstanding Professional Advisor
• Outstanding Faculty Advisor

Excellence in Online Teaching Awards – Deadline: March 8

Two winners will be selected for innovative online practices that have resulted in student engagement and satisfaction as well as the achievement of desired learning outcomes.

Department Chair Excellence Award – Deadline: March 8

If you know a department chair who goes above and beyond in support of MSU Denver’s students, mission and values, nominate them for the Department Chair Excellence Award. Nominees must be current department chairs with at least one year of experience in the position. The successful nominee is one who demonstrates success in at least one of the following areas:

• Demonstration of outstanding leadership
• Demonstration of curricular innovation
• Promotion of student success
• Overall contribution toward achievement of the College and/or University mission

A chair may self-nominate, or a nomination can come from any student, faculty, staff member or other member of the University community. Nominations, not to exceed two pages in length, should be sent electronically to Kami Phillips by 5 p.m. on March 8.
