Accessing data is now even easier

The updated Enterprise Data Warehouse website offers an improved user experience.

Over the past several months, the Enterprise Data Warehouse team has been refining the EDW website to improve the user experience. The website now provides easy methods for Roadrunners to access or request access to EDW reports or request a new report.

Request access to reports

To request access to the EDW’s existing catalog of reports, staff or faculty members can fill out a brief web form. The web form is accessed by clicking “Request EDW Access” on the EDW website’s internal menu. The request-access form can also be accessed by clicking the “Request EDW Access” button at the top of the home page. The form requires that the requestor provide their name, 900 number, Metropolitan State University of Denver email address, job title, department, department head and data needs.

For users requesting access to nonaggregate student financial-aid data, please request access to Financial Aid data from Michelle Leboo, associate director of Financial Aid.

For users requesting access to Human Resources data, please contact the HR Department.

Request a new report

The process for requesting a new EDW report has similarly been streamlined. The new report-request web form is accessed by clicking “Request a Report” in the EDW website’s internal menu or at the bottom of the Report Catalog page. The EDW asks that requestors provide their contact information so the team can reach out for clarification or provide updates on the status of a request. Beneath the contact information, users are asked to provide details on the business purpose or need that the report will fulfill, the main data areas and specific data elements that should be included. Users can now upload a file to support their request, such as a report mock-up, template or graph.

Access existing reports

To access existing reports in the EDW, connect to VPN/GlobalProtect, scroll to “Employee Systems Services & Reporting” and click “Reporting and Data.” On the EDW homepage, click “Access the EDW button” or use the “Access the EDW” link in the website’s internal menu. Log in to the EDW using your MSU Denver NetID and NetID password and begin browsing the reports you have access to.
