Hart Center seeks faculty-fellow applicants

The role will support the mission of inspiring and encouraging greater civic engagement.

Hart Center and MSU Denver logosThe Hart Center for Public Service at Metropolitan State University of Denver is recruiting a faculty fellow to support special projects and the center’s mission: to inspire and encourage greater civic engagement by providing those committed to public service with the tools needed to be effective through learning and active participation in community service and government. In so doing, the Hart Center hopes to create the country’s most diverse, talented and committed body of future leaders for the public and nonprofit sectors.

The center seeks a faculty fellow to work with staff and leaders for 10-15 hours per week. The role will include:

  • Providing academic leadership and support as the Hart Center develops and grows its programming.
  • Identifying and helping to recruit students to serve on a Student Advisory Council.
  • Developing and executing plans to involverelevant Hart Center Advisory Board members in courses teaching tactics needed in public-service professions.
  • Developing a strategy or plan for the Hart Center to support and augment the work of MSU Denver faculty in public-service scholarship and practice.
  • Ensuring that Hart Center programs and events align with MSU Denver values, policies and procedures.
  • Consulting on curriculum and related matters.

The position is paid, and the center will collaborate with the faculty fellow and their department leadership to determine support via salary supplement, reassigned time or other needs. The faculty fellow will serve for the full 2021-22 academic year with the option to renew.
