Afghan refugee-crisis town hall
Join a town hall designed to raise awareness and solicit campus support for Afghan refugees and resettlement efforts. Panelists include Richard Mac Namee, director of the Cybersecurity Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver; Atim Otii, director of the Denver Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs; Nike Puldra, refugee advocate; and Metra Mehran, Afghan refugee and co-founder of the Feminine Perspectives Movement. Tune in to the virtual town hall on Zoom or attend the livestream in the Tivoli Ballroom with pizza provided.

Awaz Trio Master Class
Welcome Aakash Mittal’s Awaz Trio to the Auraria Campus as part of the Department of Music’s Visiting Artists Series. Mittal is an alto saxophonist and prolific composer who will offer a master class along with Miles Okazaki and Rajna Swaminathan.

AHEC Strategic Plan feedback sessions
AHEC recently completed a draft of a Strategic Plan that sets the tone for a stronger, inclusive, and more collaborative shared campus that elevates services and the vision for the Auraria Campus as a whole. To preview this plan and share important feedback that will help shape this campus and community, please plan to attend one of the following sessions:
- Tuesday hybrid forum in JSSB 400 and Zoom (with pizza), 3-4 p.m.
- Wednesday virtual open forum,11 a.m. to noon
- Sept. 23, hybrid open forum in CAVEA (with pizza), 3-4 p.m.

UndocuPeers training
Roadrunners are invited to attend a six-hour professional-development training to raise awareness about the realities and challenges faced by undocumented students and the resources available to them. The material is based on a workshop developed by undocumented students and the advocacy group United We Dream. Masks will be required for this in-person training, and capacity is limited to 40 participants, so be sure to reserve your spot today.

Support Afghan refugees and evacuation efforts
MSU Denver and the following local and international aid organizations are seeking Roadrunner assistance for Afghan refugee relief efforts. Learn more about donation needs and opportunities:
- Afghan Student and Scholars Fund
- The International Rescue Committee
- The Rocky Mountain chapter of Lutheran Family Services
- Denver’s African Community Center
Reminders
Treat yourself to a variety of cuisines from the convenience of campus. A lineup of local food trucks will be available to Roadrunners every Monday, excluding holidays and academic breaks.

Important parking information and vehicle registration
Register your vehicle to avoid campus parking-rate increased on Sept. 13. The rate increases will apply to any unregistered vehicle parking Friday through Sunday or after 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The after-hours parking rates will mirror Special Event rates, with the 5th Street Garage charging $15 and the Tivoli Garage implementing a $20 rate. The 7th Street Garage will not be available for parking after 5 p.m., although cars will still be able to exit after hours with payment.
