After over a year of teaching in isolation from their homes, many faculty members are looking forward to being on campus and accessing all the opportunities that allows. One of these opportunities is the chance to join an Association of College and University Educators cohort and become a member of a community of professional practice invested in learning about, discussing and implementing teaching practices that research shows improve student engagement and persistence, promote deeper learning and close equity gaps.
Cohorts begin Sept. 13 and will run through to the end of the spring semester. Five times throughout the academic year, cohort participants will come together in a relaxed workshop setting, with good food and great conversation, to discuss with their colleagues across the campus the teaching strategies they are learning about and implementing in their classes.
Metropolitan State University of Denver has partnered with ACUE to offer two cohorts of the Effective Online Teaching Practices course, each with a unique concentration focus during the 2021-22 academic year. Cohort D with an equity-and-antiracism pedagogy concentration is being sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Cohort E with a career-preparedness concentration is being sponsored by the Classroom to Career Hub. To apply for one of the cohorts, fill out this short application form.
