Building Ethnic Studies: A National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies Conversation Across the Greater Southwest
2-4 p.m.
Tune in to the Facebook live event.
The National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies is the premier professional organization for students, professors, administrators and community members in the field of Chicana/o Studies. Recent legislation in support of teaching ethnic studies in K-12 and higher education across California, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado inspired the NACCS to host a discussion across the Southwest. The panel discussion is a great opportunity to broaden the ethnic-studies conversation and engage in dialogue across our various communities.
Panelists include Chalane E. Lechuga, Ph.D., Chicana and Chicano Studies, and faculty fellow with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Lechuga served as NACCS treasurer from 2015-19 and was recently reelected to the national board as an at-large representative (2021-23).
