The Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty brain trust reaches almost every point along the academic spectrum, and we are always proud to see Roadrunners sharing their knowledge. Each month, the Early Bird highlights a few faculty members who have served as subject-matter experts on timely news topics – providing dynamic perspectives on critical issues.
Here’s a sampling from April:
Elmer Harris, Ph.D., lecturer in Early Childhood Education, was interviewed by Denver7 on April 14 about tips that parents should consider when preparing their children for kindergarten.
Amy Dore, Ph.D., Health Professions professor, interviewed with Denverite on April 5 and Denver7 on April 13 about a study of life-expectancy differences within neighborhoods throughout Denver and the corresponding health disparities that were revealed.
Arthur Fleisher III, Ph.D., professor and chair of Economics, interviewed with the Denver Business Journal on April 8 about the variances in economic-impact forecasts for hosting Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game.
Kelly Evans, Ph.D., assistant professor of Sports Management, interviewed with 850KOA on April 7 about Major League Baseball’s decision to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver.
Steve Beaty, Ph.D., professor and interim chair of Computer Science, interviewed with CGTN America on April 1 about the use of a Covid-19 contact-notification app to inform people about potential exposure.
