Rachel B. Noel Distinguished Professorship lecture and awards event

Since 1981, the Noel Distinguished Visiting Professorship has fostered multiculturalism, diversity and academic excellence by inviting renowned scholars and artists to Metropolitan State University of Denver to conduct classes, seminars, performances and lectures for Roadrunners and the larger Denver community. This year’s Rachel B. Noel Distinguished Visiting Professor is Phoebe A. Haddon, J.D., legal trailblazer, acclaimed academic and niece of Rachel B. Noel. Haddon is a law professor at Rutgers University and served as the chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s board of directors. She was the 2019 recipient of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2015 she received the Trailblazer Award from the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association.

Faculty and staff members are invited to join a Zoom panel discussion hosted by Interim Provost Bill Henry, Ph.D., to discuss the intersection of freedom of speech and classroom management. Panel experts will provide guidance and recommendations regarding how faculty members can negotiate difficult situations. Faculty and staff members are encouraged to submit questions in advance.
