A new benefit for temporary, non-benefit-eligible employees

Metropolitan State University of Denver is excited to offer paid sick leave to temporary, non-benefit-eligible employees. The sick leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed a maximum of 48 hours in a calendar year.

This sick leave can be used by the following employee categories:

• Student employees
• Affiliate faculty
• Temporary hourly
• Fee-for-service

Employees will be able to view their sick-leave accrual in the employee self-service tab in the Student Hub and the Faculty and Staff Hub. Details on how to review and report leave as well as how leave can be used is available on the Human Resources webpage.
