The Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty brain trust reaches almost every place on the academic spectrum, and we are always proud to see Roadrunners sharing their knowledge. Each month, the Early Bird highlights a few faculty members who have served as subject-matter experts on timely news topics, providing dynamic perspectives on critical issues.

Here’s a sampling from January:

Devon Wright, Ph.D., assistant professor of Africana Studies, interviewed with CGTN America on Jan. 14 about policing and the riots at the U.S. Capitol during the insurrection of Jan. 6.

Shelby Balik, Ph.D., associate professor of history, spoke with Denver7 on Jan. 15 about the historical importance of President-elect Joe Biden taking a public oath of office.
