“The Virtue of Limits”
Philosopher David McPherson will discuss his forthcoming book “The Virtue of Limits,” which evaluates the boundaries that push humanity toward greatness and become its downfall. In his lecture, McPherson will invite participants to consider the place of limits within a well-lived human life. The free event is open to the public.

“A Night of Knowing Nothing” screening and discussion
Experience the intensely personal meditation on love and isolation with social reflections on caste and contemporary Indian politics in Payal Kapadia’s first feature, “A Night of Knowing Nothing.” Afterward, the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry will present a group of scholars to help explain the multiple layers of this intriguing breakthrough film. Free tickets are available to all Metropolitan State University of Denver students along with faculty and staff members. Faculty members are invited to bring their classes. Campus safe night
All Auraria Campus students and faculty and staff members are invited to the annual Tri-Institutional safety event hosted by the Auraria Campus Police Department. This year’s gathering will feature pizza, Starbucks beverages and two timely presentations. Topics of discussion include coping strategies for Covid-19-related stressors and an overview of the Mental Health Center of Denver’s Co-responder Program, which was implemented on campus this fall. Following the presentations, attendees will walk the campus to identify areas where safety may be a concern. Members will then reconvene to discuss safety recommendations, which will be considered by the Auraria Higher Education Center’s Executive Office.

“Ahed’s Knee” screening and discussion
Join a screening of “Ahed’s Knee,” the fourth film from firebrand Israeli director Nadav Lapid, who also wrote and directed “Synonymes.” The film offers an unflinching rumination on the moral challenges of creating art amid complex political turmoil. Afterward, all Roadrunners are invited to join D-phi for a lively discussion of this powerful, politically charged film.
