MSU Denver celebrates Dia de los Muertos

The University is co-sponsoring a day of family-friendly performances and activities Nov. 6 at Denver Botanic Gardens.

Mexican folklorico dancers performing in King Center auditorium.Metropolitan State University of Denver, a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution since 2019, is proud to continue its partnership with Denver Botanic Gardens as a presenting sponsor of the 2021 Día de los Muertos celebration. The hybrid event, which will be online and in person, includes traditional Day of the Dead celebrations and activities for all ages.

Roadrunners and their families are invited to visit Denver Botanic Gardens’ York Street location to enjoy the outdoor market, dance and music performances, live art demonstrations, a kids grab-and-go craft corner and the Calavera Costume Contest.

The website also includes downloadable coloring sheets and video instructions for making traditional papel picado, paper marigolds and mini-altars for families celebrating at home.
