The session will be hosted by Larry Sampler, chief operating officer and vice president for Administration, and Bill Henry, Ph.D., interim provost. The event will also feature panelists Courtney Rocheleau, Ph.D., professor, Psychological Sciences, and Annie Butler, chair and professor, Human Services and Counseling.

Butler is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Addictions Counselor and doctoral candidate. She has worked in the field of behavioral health (both mental health and substance abuse counseling) for many years, and has been sharing her wisdom, humor, and mistakes with students at MSU Denver since the early 2000s. Self-care, including stress management, has been an important part of the curriculum in many of her courses.

Rocheleau earned her master’s degree and doctorate in social psychology, with an emphasis in health psychology, at the University of Colorado Boulder. She teaches and conducts research in the area of health psychology, which examines the most effective ways to prevent, treat, and manage illness from a biopsychosocial perspective.
