The MSU Denver faculty brain trust reaches almost every corner of the academic spectrum, and we are always proud to see Roadrunners sharing their knowledge. Each month, the Early Bird highlights a few faculty members who have served as subject-matter experts on timely news topics – providing dynamic perspectives on critical issues.
Here’s a sampling from October:
Nicolas Cachanosky, Ph.D., associate professor of economics, shared his expertise with Bloomberg on Oct. 30 about whether dollarization could be Argentina’s solution to its economic struggles.
Darrin Duber-Smith, senior lecturer of marketing, was interviewed on the “Steffan Tubbs Show” 710KNUS on Oct. 30 about the NCAA’s recent decision to allow personal sponsorships for college athletes.
Whitney Traylor, Ph.D., associate professor of management and an attorney, was interviewed on 9News on Oct. 25 about the Colorado Supreme Court hearing a case about individuals on probation losing their right to use medical marijuana.
Ann Murphy, Ph.D., College of Business dean, was interviewed by Inside Higher Ed on Oct. 22 about defining a path for success and her vision for MSU Denver’s business school.
Sally Balbaalki-Yassine, Ph.D., associate professor of marketing, interviewed with Denver7 on Oct. 18 about the impact clothing choices have on the environment, especially the oceans.
David Bechtold, Ph.D., associate professor of management, spoke with Scripps National on Oct. 15 about Google removing apps offering payday loans from its Play Store.
