The Exhausted Majority

Oct. 9

Center for Advanced Visualization and Experiential Analysis

11 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

The Golda Meir Center for Political Leadership and the Metropolitan State University of Denver Political Science Department will host The Exhausted Majority, a presentation by Stephen Hawkins. Hawkins is the co-author of the report, “The Hidden Tribes of America,” which addresses political polarization in the U.S., and claims we are actually not as politically polarized as we are led to believe.

National Coming Out Day

Oct. 10

Come out Oct. 10 and join the LGBTQ Student Resource Center to celebrate the community of the Auraria Campus. A showcase featuring talent and different perspectives within the queer community will be featured at that time. If you have a coming-out story or a how-it-gets-better story you would like to share, submit here. 

Call for Performing Talent

The LGBTQ SRC is seeking talent to perform at its National Coming Out Day event at the Tivoli on Oct. 10. Performances will be from 1-3 p.m. Sign up online now.

Teaching and Learning With Technology Symposium

Oct. 11

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.

Tivoli Turnhalle

The free Teaching and Learning With Technology Symposium, hosted by the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design, will feature a keynote from alum Sean Michael Morris, author of “An Urgency of Teachers,” as well as talks on accessibility and universal design, faculty learning communities, Open Educational Resources and online course facilitation.

Anyone interested in teaching, learning and sharing ideas is welcome to attend, including colleagues from other institutions. Refreshments, a continental breakfast and a full lunch are included.
