Although he was only 17 years old when he wrote this book, Martinez (who is also a hip-hop artist) has been a compelling voice of climate activism for more than a decade. He has given TED talks, spoken to the United Nations and filed lawsuits against the Colorado and federal governments to protect our environment. We hope his book moves campus readers to consider issues of culture, creativity, environmental protection, activism and direct service.
