Honor Veteran’s Day with the MSU Denver community

Roadrunners are invited to attend a screening and discussion of the groundbreaking WWI documentary “They Shall Not Grow Old.”

Still from documentary On Nov. 11, Veterans Day, the Metropolitan State University of Denver community is invited to recognize the many valuable contributions of our veteran and military students.

MSU Denver has been named a Best College for Veterans by Military Times for the past five years, and the University’s Veteran and Military Student Services organization provides community, support and resources for more than 1,200 veteran and military students.

These students, and the entire campus community, are invited to honor Veterans Day with a screening of the award-winning documentary “They Shall Not Grow Old.” Directed by Peter Jackson, the documentary features century-old film footage, 50-year-old audio recordings and a commitment to honestly portraying the human experience of war.

Hosted by Veteran and Military Student Services, the Denver Project for Humanistic Inquiry and Vincent Piturro, Ph.D., professor of Film and Media Studies, the event will also include an audience discussion and Q&A session with Andrea Maestrejuan, Ph.D., associate professor, History.

Nov. 11

King Center Concert Hall

5 p.m. – refreshments in the King Center lobby

6 p.m. – film screening followed by Q&A and discussion
