The Metropolitan State University of Denver faculty brain trust reaches almost every point along the academic spectrum, and we are always proud to see Roadrunners sharing their knowledge. Each month, the Early Bird highlights a few faculty members who have served as subject-matter experts on timely news topics – providing dynamic perspectives on critical issues.
Here’s a sampling from September:
Whitney Traylor, J.D., attorney and associate professor of management, interviewed with 9News on Sept. 28 about elements of a copyright-infringement case between the estate of a guitarist from the band Spirit and Led Zeppelin over the song “Stairway to Heaven.”
Jeff Price, professor of aviation and aerospace management, interviewed with Voice of America on Sept. 17 about the vulnerabilities to drone attacks of Saudi Arabia’s sophisticated defense system.
Kishore Kulkarni, Ph.D., professor of economics, shared his expertise with Denver7 on Sept. 15 about why many retired people are working beyond the retirement age.
Sam Ng, Ph.D., professor of meteorology, interviewed with the Denver Post on Sept. 7 about the strength of Hurricane Dorian’s winds.
Darrin Duber-Smith, senior lecturer of marketing, interviewed with Steffan Tubbs on 710KNUS on Sept. 5 about the new title sponsor of the Denver Broncos’ stadium.
