Open Enrollment for Metropolitan State University of Denver’s benefit-eligible faculty and administrative staff will run Nov. 1-22. Faculty and administrative staff will have the opportunity to review coverage options and make benefit changes for 2020 without experiencing a qualified life event. If it has been a year since you reviewed your current benefit elections, the Office of Human Resources encourages you to review your elections to ensure that they best meet the needs of you and your family.
Employees who wish to make changes or review their current benefits for 2020 can stop by the Office of Human Resources at JSSB 310 from Nov. 1-22 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. A member of the Human Resources Benefits Team will be available each day during Open Enrollment to meet with employees one-on-one. Employees can also call or send a question or comment to the Benefits Team for assistance.
In anticipation of Open Enrollment, here are a few highlights employees need to know.
- We are excited to announce there will be no premium changes or plan changes for any medical, dental or vision plan.
- If an employee does not participate in Open Enrollment, medical, dental and vision elections will roll forward to 2020. Those employees who lost vision coverage for 2019 but want to elect vision coverage in 2020, please make sure to contact a member of the Benefits Team for assistance.
- Health Care and Dependent Care flexible-spending-account elections will not roll over to 2020. To ensure participation in a flexible spending account for 2020, employees must make an election during Open Enrollment.
- Lastly, we will be introducing SunLife as our new optional life-insurance carrier starting Jan. 1. Sunlife will not only be taking over as our optional life-insurance carrier but will offer a voluntary accident policy and critical-illness policy.
