President’s Speaker Series welcomes Sampson Davis, M.D.

The celebrated author and emergency-room doctor will share his inspirational story and discuss health equity Sept. 26.

Dr. Sampson DavisAuthor and emergency-room doctor Sampson Davis, M.D., will be the latest luminary featured in the President’s Speaker Series at Metropolitan State University of Denver. The Sept. 26 event is open to all faculty, staff, students, alumni and the public.

Davis, author of “Living and Dying in Brick City,” will share his personal story and reflect on his experiences in the ER. He will touch on a wide array of topics, including mental health, substance abuse, health care in urban environments and the need for greater workplace diversity in the medical field.

President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., will host the event, which is co-sponsored by the Health Institute and the Department of Human Services and Counseling.
