A lot of the great conversations about Metropolitan State University of Denver happen online – which is why the Early Bird regularly highlights Roadrunner social-media buzz.

Here are some selections from our social-media pages that help show the real impact MSU Denver has on the lives of students, alumni, staff, faculty and the Denver community.

Our community partner the Denver Scholarship Foundation helped promote our collaboration with OpenStax, a program that provides free online learning materials to help make college more affordable for our students. Thank you for the shout-out, DSF! 

We loved seeing this Facebook post from former 9News anchor Kyle Dyer. She attended our TEDx MSU Denver event Sept. 12 and had great things to say about our speakers. If you missed any of our TEDx coverage, check out this RED story. 

Huge shout-out to Vice President for Student Affairs Will Simpkins, Ed.D., for showing off some of our new “Reimagine Possible” ads at Denver International Airport!

The Colorado Department of Higher Education retweeted an important RED story about Open Educational Resources and the death of textbooks (which brought a lot of attention on social media). Chemistry Associate Professor Emily Ragan, Ph.D., was the first chair of the @COHigherEd’s OER council and continues to advocate for advances in learning technology.   

Men’s lacrosse player Jared Sinnes was honored by the Colorado Rockies for selling more than $15,000 in 50/50 raffle tickets and generating $5,600 in fundraising for his team. Three cheers for Jared!

The Colorado Department of Higher Education also shared a story about inspiring Student Government Assembly President Danielle Holmes and her goal to help students who have experienced housing and food insecurity. If you missed the story, check it out!
